It’s rare or unknown today to encounter someone who is objectively and genuinely intelligent, educated, profound, wise, noble, and great. Someone who is healthy strong, powerful, awesome, confident, serene, light-hearted, fun-filled, thrilled, ecstatic, joyful, and happy.
This is because virtually everyone today is so illiberal. Our philosophy, culture, society, social milieus, circles of friends, and families are so petty, small-minded, spiritually low, weak, dark, corrupt, and depraved.
The current post-modernist, post-Enlightenment, Dark Age, irrational, illiberal, ignorant, foolish, addled, brainwashed, bizarre, demented, diseased, debauched world doesn’t much allow such virtuous, impressive, exalted, magnificent, and heroic people to emerge and thrive. Or even to humbly subsist and precariously survive.
Of course, every person, group, philosophy, culture, and society has some contact with and loyalty to reality and truth. Some rationality, understanding, knowledge, goodness, greatness, and nobility. But nowadays such persons and societies haven’t much. So geniuses, saints, and heroes are rare.
