Humans are fundamentally depraved. They’re biologically and genetically defective on a profound level. People are dedicated to self-destruction and social destruction. And they’re quite effective at it. In many respects it’s a wonder they’re still even around.
But humans aren’t fully evil. The proof of this is humans are the dominant life form on the planet and they haven’t annihilated themselves yet. This doesn’t mean Big Brother, nuclear war, bio-chemical war, and extinction don’t loom. But they may well be avoided and defeated.
And even amidst loathsome mankind, living as a hermit isn’t good. Isolated mountains, woods, deserts, islands, and farms have a lot of appeal – especially with dogs and cats. But humans today have a lot to offer in the way of wealth, health care, technology, and culture. For all their wretched, disgusting, and absurd nature – for all their commitment to a lifestyle of irrationality, immorality, injustice, and betrayal – people still have by far the highest intelligence and knowledge of any creature on Earth. And they have the best esthetics and spirituality by a mile. So until decent android companions are built – especially female sex robots – the tiny number of relatively good and civilized people on this planet probably need to try hard to get along with their inferior insectoid monstrous fellow man.
